The Ugandan Police have arrested two men for selling Ensenene on the Uganda Airlines Flight. This came about as hungry passengers started buying Ensenene (a Ugandan delicacy of fried grasshoppers).
Ensenene is a Ugandan delicacy from deep fried grasshoppers, Onions, Garlic and table salt. The Ugandan Airlines issued a press release on the 27th of November 2021 after a viral video of the two hawkers selling Ensenene on the flight, they blamed poor packaging of the Ensenene to passengers. below is the official press release copy. The press release points out how it was disruptive to their schedule and flight organization.
The Ugandan Airlines also added that they have learnt that their passengers enjoy Ensenene and other local bizarre delicacy which were not considered standard enough to add to the menu. Ensenene has already been integrated into the meal menu of the Prestigious Airline. The high demand for Ensenene this year had been due to its shortage, being seasonal insects and not domesticated, it’s up to nature to bring it.
The Police charged Paul Mubiru and a one Kigundu for disruptive behavior on the Uganda Airlines plane following a video that went viral as the passengers looked so happy with the two’s customer service skills.
