On Monday 20, December 2021, the first volume of the Face of Gulu pageant was held at BOMAH hotel in Gulu City. Of the 11 contestants, 21 year old Alimocan Rebecca emerged Queen.
The 11 contestants took a series of modelling and cat walking showcasing their fashion and swagger in a series of outfits by their designers, as they say “ Beauty without brains is a waste of space” they were also given many questions to test their intellects, Which she also beat them to it.
She’s to take home a price money of $1000 US dollars equal to 3.5 Million Ugandan shillings, as an appreciation for the time, effort and hard-work she put towards her achievement. From the picture above, to the right is Aber Patience the first runner up who was also given 500,000Ugx and the 2nd runner up Aber Peace took 300,000Ugx as a small token for their efforts.
The 2021 pageant run under theme “Empowering Covid-19 Child Mothers”. The beauty pageant was started with a main objective of advocating for the COVID-19 child mothers in the country as soon as possible.
The Nile Media Group CEO, Eng Olanya Olenge Tony who launched the Face Of Gulu pageant a few months back, was among the dignitaries who graced the event.
