Dubbed NUMA, The annual Northern Uganda Music Awards is the region’s biggest music festival that aims at promoting and rewarding local talent of both establish and upcoming musician inspiring change through their music and other form of creative arts including, dance, film and comedy.
The Annual Northern Uganda Music Awards is a well-known regional showcase of original music, unique voices and emerging pool of talent that attracts over 5,000 unique visitors.
This comes after months long buildup activities in which nominees go through a multi-layered judging processes including listening and accessing the impact, technical quality, uniqueness and style of their song over the radio and various medium by a team of music critic who pass their first-level judgment.
This is followed by another high-profile screening session spearheaded by Mr. Okot Juma Jammie, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Northern Uganda Music Awards and a team of experts who boost of over ten years of experience in music and radio production.
What makes the Northern Uganda Music Award stand out is the fact that it has maintained consistency in its award giving category and adhered to the principle of quality production work. Besides, the entire judging process is strictly based on merit regardless of individual artist fan base, popularity and/or record sales.
