A musician who sources say is a strong supporter of the National Resistance Movement ( NRM), Was today sentenced to 1 month in prison for attempting to commit suicide by self immolation which is a sacrificial form of death by burning self with a pyro propellant like petrol, kerosene.
In this case, 33 year old Mr. Mohammed Amanyire aka Everman, a musician who appeared in a session presided over by magistrate Doreen Karungi pleaded guilty to the offence.

He however pleaded for a reduced sentence when he tried committing suicide on September 7th last week. He says he is the breadwinner of his family and that he only wanted attention.
Everman went in front of the Paliarment of Uganda and threatened to set himself on fire, he said he was a very staunch supporter of NRM and HE. Yoweri Museveni the president of Uganda but all his efforts to seek attention have been in vain. He needs serious financial help for his families well-being and for his music career.
He further told court that he was simply expressing his dissatisfaction with the NRM party he supports.
“The convict is hereby sentenced to One month in prison. He needs to reform so that he never attempts to take his own life,” the magistrate said before ordering Amanyire to be taken away.
