
Gulu city authority (GCA) has finally received the long awaited garbage trucks for garbage management in the city.
The five new trucks were procured from Thailand by the German Government to help in addressing poor garbage management in the city.

Due to inadequate manpower and proper garbage containment planning in Gulu City, five garbage trucks have been given to the infant City to curb it’s pollution and garbage containment.
Moses Otimong, the Gulu city town clerk, says the new trucks are expected to commence work immediately after they are commissioned.
Garbage management in Gulu City has become a challenge generally because of the regular breakdown of garbage trucks and the high costs to repair and maintain. According to a statistics, Gulu City generates an average of 120 tons of garbage daily but can collect only a quarter of the garbage generated.
