Shalom KaweesiRenowned YouTuber Shalom Kaweesi has been granted bail after spending several weeks in custody over charges of cyber harassment.
Shalom was released on bail by the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Makindye on Monday, following a successful bail application. He had been arrested after a complaint was filed by Jennifer “Full Figure” Nakangubi, accusing him of cyber harassment.
After his arrest, Shalom was remanded for a week as he awaited the hearing of his bail application. On his return to court, the magistrate approved his release, allowing him to spend the festive season with his family.
The development comes shortly after Full Figure publicly revealed that she was willing to forgive Shalom, noting that she did not wish to keep him away from his children during the holidays.
Court granted Shalom bail on a non-cash bond of Shs5 million, with each of his sureties also bonded for a non-cash Shs5 million.
Shalom is expected to return to court on February 3 at 9:30am as the case continues.
