Jah Fire pulls out of NUMA Awards days to D-day, calling it a ”fake award” | luostep

Controversial musician King Jah Fire has Monday pulled out of this year’s Northern Uganda Music Awards (NUMA) competition, calling it a “fake award”.

According to him, he is a message deliverer who does not sing for award which he described it as fake award, telling his fans and supporters that he won’t be attending it.

“I’m a message deliverer, I don’t sing for award. I don’t sing for fake award so my fans and supporters i want to declare this NUMA Awards very fake award,” – He said.

He said he was nominated in certain categories he doesn’t fit; he doesn’t deserve to compete with those people, for example; Overall artist, content creator, and among others.

Frustrated Jah Fire said if his song Mama yambo not song of the year he will not attend NUMA Awards on 1st January 2026 at Pece Stadium.

“Song of the year, people are the one saying Auke Maro Collabo, why is it that it’s not there. I said that if Mama yambo is not song of the year I will not cross NUMA Awards. And after all people are the one who wrote the title that Mama yambo is song of the year,” He lamented.

He went ahead accused NUMA Awards CEO for removing him from the category of dancehall artist and hip hop artist, saying he released an international hip hop song which deserves nomination.

“I released an international hip hop song and i wasn’t nominated in category and just give it to anyone you feel like,” – He stated

He blamed the organisers for nominating him in the same category of content creator with people like Aboka Lam, saying that he uses his content to create his which is wrong.

“Content creator! Now you are nominating me with someone like Aboka Lam who is using my words as content creator. In fact carry the award and give to anyone you want because you have nominated me with people who don’t deserve it.” – he commented.

He also said with his heart sympathy he will surrender legendary award to musician turned politician Bosmic Otim because he has struggled hard in music industry to the extent of contesting for MP seat.

“Legendary artist this year with my sympathy i can say that give it to Bosmic Otim because he has struggled so much in music and he even contested to be an MP.”

Jah Fire become the second artist to pulled out of NUMA Awards 2025 competition just a few days after Lakubukubu artist King Denty Bwoy saying he is not taking part of the race because he has already won it and he needs to space fellow artists who have not won to also win the award.
